The primary objective of the conference was to open a dialog for partnership between two of the world’s leading countries in developing and implementing new Wind Energy technologies. Many of the participants were able to find business partners and expanded their operations. Germany has been at the forefront of new Wind Energy initiatives, both from a technology and a public policy standpoint. This includes being the world’s leading producer of Wind Power. Iowa is the third largest producer of wind energy in the USA, followed closely by its neighbor to the north, Minnesota.
