The Colorado Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce and the American Council on Germany cordially invite you to a very special Speaker’s Dinner Fundraiser Event at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Golden Colorado.
Our guest speaker is Mathias Sonn, the Minister (Economic Affairs), German Embassy Washington, D.C. The subject of his after dinner talk is:
“Renewable Energy and ‘Green’ Technologies
- An Opportunity for German American Business”
Mathias Sonn is responsible for economic contacts and exchange at the Washington Embassy and will bring us up to date on the newest developments in the movement of German technologies and industry between Germany and the United States. Since Colorado has been determined as being a major player in this field and has already seen a multitude of corporate movement to Colorado for development in the Renewable Energy Technologies, Mr Sonn’s speech will prove to be an important and useful source of tangible information for local companies and individual businesses.

The fee for this dinner event is: $75 Members of both organisations and $95 for Non-Members. Please specify your meal selection of Prime Rib or Salmon with your RSVP. Red or White Wine will be served with your dinner. A cash bar is also available. Corporate table seating for six is available at $490.

A short Biography of Mr. M. Sonn:
MATHIAS SONN
Minister (Economic Affairs), German Embassy Washington, D.C.
Mr. Sonn is currently Minister for Economic Affairs at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C.. Before moving to the United States, he was head of Task Force International Co-operation on Counterterrorism, UN Department, of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
His most recent postings included Moscow, where he was Minister-Counsellor in the Department of Political and Counterterrorism Affairs at the German Embassy, and Sarajevo/Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he served as Ambassador at the Senior Deputy High Representative Office of the High Representative (OHR).
Mr. Sonn’s first tour of office as a young First Secretary took him to Port-of-Spain/Trinidad and Tobago, followed by Accra/Ghana as Deputy Chief of Mission and four years as Counsellor at the German Embassy in Ankara/Turkey. He returned to Berlin as Head of Eastern Mediterranean Division only to be leaving again after two years for Sarajevo.
After studying Law and Theology at the Universities of Hamburg, Geneva, Munich and Tuebingen, and his Law State Examination, he entered the German Federal Foreign Office in 1984. He received his Bar Exam in 1985.
